In collaboration with Union Pacific, Town of Truckee, Jim Dobbas Inc. and Truckee Donner Railroad Society, Truckee Development Associates provided a permanent home for two historic pieces of rolling stock as part the future Truckee Railyard project. The Rotary Blower and Steam Crane will become part of a display piece owned and operated by the Truckee Donner Railroad Society.

With the relocation of the rolling stock and decommissioning of the old Union Pacific maintenance building, all efforts are now focused on installation of infrastructure within future Phase 1 roadways. The 2-hour free and overnight parking located next to the Beacon station has been relocated to a temporary lot to the north to allow for the construction of parking and the extension of Donner Pass Road into the Railyard. In the coming weeks, you will see the realignment of future roadways coming into shape. Construction on the new round about at the intersection of Donner Pass Road and Church Street will begin in July. Please bear with our temporary traffic impacts and know that we are working to have all roadway improvements completed by the end of summer.
