On April 28, 2020, the Truckee Town Council approved Resolution 2020-18 accepting $2,310,000 in Proposition 1 grant funds from the California Department of Fish & Wildlife for the restoration of Trout Creek and committing $1,540,000 in Town matching funds from the Church Street Extension project (CIP C1804) budget. The restoration of Trout Creek was the last hurdle necessary for the Town to complete the extension of Church Street through the Industrial Heritage and Trout Creek Districts of the Truckee Railyard. Most of the engineering work is complete for the Roundabout and creek crossing. Project is expected to be “shovel ready” in summer of 2021.
