Since their first General Plan targeted the Railyard 15 years ago, the Town of Truckee has been planning for the future of its downtown. In 2003, Holliday Development was the right partner to join the Town and accelerate this bold vision to create a more complete community at the gateway to the Tahoe region.

What’s First Down the Railyard Tracks
Building the Truckee theaters and first commercial spaces will unlock the potential of the Railyard by establishing the connection between the historic downtown and the Town’s future. Phase I will draw individuals and families from the entire Tahoe region to see the modern style, walkable mixed-use destination.
The Railyard’s First Building is Complete
From the Railyard’s first new building you are only steps away from the existing restaurants and shops in downtown Truckee. Soon you will also be able to walk to the movies and live performing arts!
Creative Exterior Design
Western lines, modern windows, reclaimed picklewood, steel pillars and blue steel are the perfect combination to transition the old town into the new.
A Place to Gather
This well-designed great room exemplifies the Railyard’s design focus on places to gather, whether around the concrete fireplace or dining table or at the island while chatting with the cook. An entire wall slides away to extend this gathering space out onto a beautiful deck with 180-degree views of the mountains and historic downtown.
Clean Lined Kitchen
Rustic barnwood floors juxtaposed with custom fir cabinetry with simple modern lines accented with milk white glass and a pop white ceramic farm sink make for a stunning ecclectic kitchen. The island of unfinished steel compliments the appliances and is topped with a thick butcher block top branded with the Truckee Railyard logo.
The Bedroom Suite
Picklewood with blue steel reveals acts both as an accent wall, mirroring the building’s exterior, and as a headboard. The simple bed, designed of the same materials, captures additional storage and counter space in this efficient bedroom/study suite. Open up the wall to let the outside in and you can spend all day working or relaxing.
